Adi - Mothersday video Clip

Just thought I would add a clip of a DVD that I made for mom for Mothers Day 2006 from the three of us. It was really fun making it, and extra special when I saw the response that it got from Mom when she watched it.

John - Adi's Buffalo

This weekend, Adi visited us in Ballito, and gave me his Buffalo drawing. It completes a set - he has done all of The Big Five for me. Thanks Uddie-Bud!

Adi has his work up on an art web site. Take a look.

John - Ian the high-flier

When we moved to Ballito in 2001 (wow! seven years ago), we thought a life on the seashore would be great. Little did we know then the effect it would have on Ian.
He has been kiteboarding almost a year now - and he's learned the ropes! No longer afraid of "the big air", he is out at sea ramping the waves - often five metres in the air. Some landings are good - others preceded by "Yiiiiiii..." Splash!

Not a sport for the faint-hearted

Last week, he did his first "downwind" - kiting from Umdloti past Umhlanga to Virginia - all of twenty kilometres. In the Big Sea - braver than his Dad, for sure. It beats cruising the malls!

John - Bye-bye Landy, hello Cruiser

Quite a sad moment saying goodbye to Landy. He served me well for four years, AND gave me & Ian the unforgettable Tanzania Dash.

Goodbye old friend.

My first new vehicle in 32 years! A brand new Toyota Land Cruiser Station Wagon. About 90% of the vehicles we saw in Africa were Toyotas, and most of the off-roaders were Land Cruisers.
I'm hoping to join Kingsley Holgate (Africa's present day explorer) for a month in Northern Mozambique later this year.

As part of his Outside Edge Expedition, he is distributing one million mosquito nets. Hoping to be part of the initiative.

Marilyn - Father Christmas

Hi there all,

Though I would share a natural "talent" with you - Father Christmas with JP's eldest Alexandra - Christmas 2007.
